Why You Should Try A JetPeel Facial
Everything you need to know about the JetPeel facial
What is a JetPeel facial?
The JetPeel facial is one of the newest skin treatments available on the market. While the name may sound intimidating, it’s actually a much gentler facial when compared to a traditional treatment like a chemical peel or microdermabrasion treatment, which both have down time. The cutting-edge JetPeel technology, which is sometimes called an ‘Oxygen’ facial, is a non-invasive multi-step treatment that is focused on restoring hydration through a customized blend of serums. The serum blend fuses 99% oxygen with liquids—water, anesthetic and nutrients, which then jet out of a high-pressure aerosol stream at a velocity of 600 feet per second. The most interesting part of the process is that there is no actual contact, which allows the sub dermal layer to absorb the nutrients being blasted at it. This facial is ideal for all skin types and effectively treats fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, sun damage, aging and acne.
How does it work?
It is a three step process, which detoxifies, exfoliates and infuses. The first step in the treatment involves lymphatic drainage, or prepping and cleansing the skin before the customized solution is introduced into the treatment area. The skin is cleansed with a combination hyaluronic acid, aloe and saltwater to stimulate microcirculation and eliminate toxins. Note that the jet stream can be adjusted in distance from the face in order to make the treatment more comfortable. Once the skin is cleansed, the next step is exfoliation. For this, glycolic acid or salicylic acid superficially remove any remaining layers of dead skin. The last step, depending on the skin concern, is to infuse specific bioactive serums. The air pressure of the JetPeel treatment carries the serum about 4 millimeters deep into the skin to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. Among others, there are five JetPeel ingredients that work wonders for the skin. These include hyaluronic acid, biomimetic peptides, vitamin A+E, vitamin C, niacinamide (a derivative of vitamin B3).
What are the benefits?
The goal of the JetPeel facial is to offer clients a highly customizable facial treatment promising plump, hydrated skin. There are several benefits ranging from glowing, healthy skin—achieved from the added hydration—to exfoliation. The contactless injection of serums deep into the skin combat uneven, dull, dehydrated and textured skin. Let’s take a look at some of the benefits:
No down time
One of the biggest benefits is that there is absolutely no down time. You can expect to see the results in just one day. Your skin will look and feel great immediately after the treatment. Depending on the skin type, usually 4-6 treatments are recommended every 2-4 weeks. While the skin looks radiant and fresh immediately post the first treatment, it is recommended to undergo at least 4-6 JetPeel sessions and thereafter monthly maintenance for optimal results.
Gentle
Again, note that the treatment does not physically peel at your skin. It is in fact far more gentle but equally effective, if not more. Since the micro-droplet of the serum travels so deep to reach the dermal layer of the skin, there is no need to use a strong glycolic acid like a 40% that is typically used for a chemical peel. This also means that the skin won’t dry up and dehydrate the way it would for a chemical peel. In fact, with a JetPeel, the skin remains hydrated while the acne spots dry up. The stream allows the nutrients to travel at subsonic speeds and permeate the skin without damaging it.
Pain-free
The treatment is not painful at all. On the contrary, the supersonic jet stream is actually quite relaxing and feels like a facial/neck massage. The cool Jetstream mimics cryotherapy.
Cleansing and nourishing
As opposed to regular treatments and hydrafacials, a JetPeel removes debris and impurities while pushing nutrients deep into the dermis. A hydrafacial involves a suction based technology whereas a JetPeel involves an infusion-based technology, the latter being more effective and less harmful. A hydrafacial uses low pressure, which makes the product reach only the outer surface of the skin. A JetPeel on the other hand, uses supersonic speed to create barophoresis, which allows the micronutrients to permeate and reach deep into the dermal skin layer. Another important difference between the two is that contact abrasion and vacuum in a hydrafacial can break capillaries and irritate sensitive skin. A JetPeel technology involves no contact and hence is safe for sensitive skin as well as skin with broken capillaries. Lastly, while contact abrasion is to be refrained from during laser treatments and post-cosmetic surgery, a JetPeel can actually be combined with the two to improve results.
Safe for all skin types
The treatment is safe for all skin types including sensitive and acne-prone skin. It tightens pores, reduces breakouts, moisturizes dry, flaky skin and lightens dark spots due to acne scarring.
What care is recommended before and after?
Two weeks prior to the JetPeel facial treatment, it is recommended to refrain from injectable fillers and Botox. It is also recommended to stop using prescription topical medications for 1 week prior to the facial. After the treatment, apply SPF 30 or greater and it is best to avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2-3 days, as well as topical astringents and toners to let the skin breathe. Do not apply topical prescriptive retinoids up to 24 hours after treatment.
